Proposal for the requirement of All-Americans attend regional events.

posted Jul 10, 2012, 10:23 PM by Webmaster USCAA
This proposal seeks to require all athletes seeking to qualify as All-Americans must attend their relevant regional event (West, East, North, or South regionals, depending on where the individual’s school is located). Because scores at outdoor events are often dependent on weather conditions, this would require athletes to attend the event and place in the top 10 in their division.

Relevance: Many regional events are under attended and universities do not give the events significant attention. By encouraging participation as a national honors qualifier event, athletes will gain more recognition for their performances at regional events and regional events will gain prominence in the community.
