***World University Championship - Team Trials*** Deadline to register for the trials is 30 April 2012 Deadline for USCA to receive the required documentation outlined in this document is 1 May 2012 The 2012 World University Team trials will be held in conjunction
with the US Intercollegiate Archery Championship 17-19 May 2012. The location
is James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. Eligibility requirements:

Registration USCA members in good standing REGISTER HERE and pay a separate registration fee in
addition to USIAC fees to be paid by 30 April 2012 Students who do not compete in USIAC Register for TTO here and pay a 3-day
Team Trial Only (TTO) fee and a separate registration fee by 30 April 2012. Trial
Format: The format will be a double 70m
round for recurve archers on a 122cm target and a double 50m round for compound
archers on the 80cm 6-ring target (scoring ring to the 5). The total arrows
will be 144, 72 arrows on Friday, 72 arrows on Sat. The top three (3) finishers
in recurve and compound divisions, men and women class will make up the World
University Team.
Failure to have provided the required documentation, deposits, and forms received by
USCA by 1 May 2012, will result in disqualification from the team trials. There
are no exceptions. Mail the required documents and photos to: Required appendices Appendix D - Code of Ethics Appendix E - Fall 2011 Eligibility Form (USCA members) **TTO participants must submit official transcripts for both semesters Registration Fees Current USCA Members affiliated with USCA clubs are required to pay a Non-refundable Registration fee: $50 (this fee is in addition to the $110 for USIAC and banquet fee. ) Total fees required by 30 April 2012 $160. Both fees must be paid by 30 April 2012. Check payments must clear the USCA bank prior to the 17 May 2012
3-day Team Trial Only (TTO) participants: A Non-refundable Team Trial Registration Fee of $200 (in addition to the 3-day TTO participant of $135.00) Both fees must be paid by 30 April 2012: $335. Banquet tickets available for $25. Check payments must clear the USCA bank by 17 May 2012. Funding: Team members will receive funding for
the following: airfare, transportation at the venue, coach staff, VISA
application, warm-up uniform/opening ceremony attire, 2 competition shirts, 2
pairs of shorts/pants, room and board at the event. USCA may require additional
fees. TTO funding is generously provided, in 2012 as a one time support, by an anonymous sponsor. USCA funding is not utilized in any manner for non-members. Other fees may be required. Any damage to the
hotel, cars, or other damages are payable by individuals. No other fees or
costs are paid by USCA unless specifically stated and approved by USCA.
Mandatory Meetings and Training Camp
before WUC Archers who are selected to the 2012 World University team are required to attend a team meeting with the WUC Staff on Saturday, 19 May. The meeting will be from approximately 530pm to 830pm and include dinner. The final time and location will be provided at the close of the team trials on Saturday 19 May. Other forms such as uniform, medical releases, additional liability waivers etc may be required for signature at the meeting. The team will depart 1-2 days early for Cordoba, Spain. Archers must agree to attend the early training and departure.
Authority of International Staff In the event that an athlete violates any of the rules and requirements, including the Appendices that are part of the team trials process and any additional documents presented to the team upon team selection, the athlete may be disciplined by the staff. The discipline/actions may include removal from the team, removal from any competitions, being sent home from the event at the athletes own expense, curfew restrictions and other such restrictions or actions as deemed necessary by the staff.
World University Championship Information 30 June -8 July, Cordoba, Spain Archers will depart on 30 June and return on 8 July 2012. Depart US 30 June arrive 1 July Team meeting/training - 1-3 July Official practice 4 July Competition - 5-7 July Departure 8 July
Format: Qualification round: 72 arrow qualification round (70m on 122cm target for recurve/50m on 80cm 6-ring target for compound). Elimination matches - 70m on 122cm target for recurve utilizing the 'set system' and 50m on 80cm 6-ring target for compound utilizing 'regular' scoring. (no set system for compound) Team round - Recurve, 70m on Academic target aka hit/miss; Compound, 50m on compound hit/miss target. The team's cumulative qualifying scores must be in the top 16 teams in order to participate. Mixed Team - Recurve, 70m on Academic target; Compound, 50m on compound hit/miss target. The highest scoring man and woman in the qualification round at WUG will compete in the mixed team round if the scores make the FISU cutoff of top 8 teams. In the case of accident or injury, the Head Coach will determine who will compete in this round. In all cases, the USCA staff will be in the coach box during medal matches.
