USCA would like to offer more competition opportunities to our clubs. In the East Region, there are two qualifying regional tournaments in addition to Regional/National Indoors and Regional Outdoors. Archers in the East region attend one or both of these events and then their highest score is included as part of the requirements for All-Region honors. In July the USCA Board of Directors approved the establishment of two regional events in the North, West, and South regions. This will provide consistency for regional awards and also offer additional competitions. The Board also approved a National Ranking System that will include additional events in 2014. By establishing the new tournaments in the 2012-13 academic year, USCA can enhance the competition experience as well as help clubs host these important events. USCA is seeking hosts in the South, North, and West Region to host an outdoor tournament. The event potentially will become a regional and national qualifier for Regional and National ranking and honors. While all clubs are welcome to bid, USCA will give priority to clubs in specific states/areas as follows: West Region - Seeking a host specifically in 1) NorCal and 2) either Utah or Arizona. South Region - Seeking a host specifically in 1) Texas, and 2) either Kentucky or Florida. Ga Clubs are eligible to bid North Region - Seeking hosts in 1) Missouri or Nebraska and 2) Illinois, Indiana, or Ohio Clubs must be able to host an outdoor event prior to the Regional Championship which is the 3rd weekend in April. USCA will provide eligibility and membership list in compliance with membership and eligibility requirements. USCA provides liability insurance. Clubs may have a guest division in compliance with USCA rules and requirements. Clubs interested in hosting an event in your region may bid for up to three (3) years. If your club is interested in hosting a qualifying event, complete the Tournament Bid form and send to stella@uscollegiatearchery.org by 30 September 2012. We look forward to more clubs being able to offer competition opportunities as a way to raise funds for their clubs and also support collegiate archers with more competitions! |
