Registration for the USCA Coach Certification online course is now available. The first course is scheduled to start on 2 January 2012.

The USCA course covers both compound and recurve form and equipment selection and tuning.  There is also a module on general USCA information that all members should know.  The course is based on the methods used by Olympic Coach Kisik Lee.  After completing the online course,  you will receive a provisional certification.  A 30-60 minute practical portion must be completed.  The practical portion will be available at USCA workshops, certain USCA tournaments, or through USCA Coaches who are  USCA certified.
 
It is a very solid course that ensures basic form, equipment selection, and equipment tuning.  All club officers should take this certification course.  Just as the USCA Judge program is open to all USCA members, the USCA Coach certification course will also be open to all members.  Best of all -- it's free, it's easy -- and it's online!
 
For those members who attended the USCA workshop in November and received your certification, the online course will be an excellent addition to the information provided.  There are numerous resources included as part of the course.
 
The USCA Coach Certification program is exclusive to USCA members and is not part of any other certification program.  USCA will recognize its certified coaches through its Coach pin program where coaches receive USCA Coach pins for their service of 3, 5, 7, 10, 15 years and beyond.  At USIAC, coaches are also recognized for their service with plaques.
 
USCA encourages all members to get involved with your organization by getting certified as Judges and Coaches.  The benefit is not only to your club and school but also to you as an individual athlete. Knowledge is power -- and USCA strives to provide as much archery knowledge as possible.
