US Collegiate Archery is pleased to announce that its Assistant Director, Helen Sahi, has been elected to USA Archery’s Board of Directors. Sahi, an assistant archery coach for the University of Connecticut, and the former President of the Connecticut Target Archers’ Association, will serve as the Grassroots Director for Colleges.
Sahi brings many years of experience in marketing and management to her new seat on the USAA Board of Directors. She currently works as the Manager of Sustainability at Energy New England, where she works to develop environmental programs and sustainability solutions for client companies. Sahi has also served as a youth hockey coach for several years, and her family has been involved in both recurve and compound competitive archery for over eleven years.
“I look at this as an opportunity to bring a fresh perspective to the board,” said Sahi. “I also envision building a stronger grassroots involvement at the state level.”
The next meeting of the USA Archery Board of Directors is slated for early 2010. Sahi, along with the other newly elected Directors (Linda Beck, Cindy Bevilacqua and Greg Easton), will join the rest of the board in “representing the interests of the archery community for USA Archery and its athletes by providing USA Archery with policy, guidance and strategic direction,” according to the USA Archery website.
