Congratulations to all the competitors! The United States team excelled at compound, bringing back gold and bronze medals from their trip to the 2008 World University Archery Championships. See the links below for complete results of the team rounds.

After a day of ORs, Jedd Greshock, James Madison University won the gold in men’s compound against Philip Glover of Great Britain, 111 to 109, and Erika Anschutz, Miami University (Ohio) won the gold in women’s compound against Hyang Kwon Oh of Korea, 110 to 108.

The US Mixed Recurve team missed qualifying for the top eight by only 5 points.

The US team is in Taiwan, and as of this writing have begun to shoot! Official practice was today, with competition beginning tomorrow. Wish our US team all the best!

Tomorrow the tournament begins with quals for the RW and the CM, followed by the quals for CW and RM.
The kids are in great spirits they are working well together and with the coaching and leadership staff. And most important they are developing a special chemistry. I must also say that the leadership and coaching staff has treated me absolutely terrific. it is a real honor for me to experience this tournament and my thanks go out to these wonderful coaches Sheri Rhodes and Bill Coady and the very capable team leader Derek Davis who have gone above and beyond for me in every way. My sincerest thanks go out to Derek, Sheri and Bill.
The tournament is upon us , and as a spectator I cant wait . Tomorrow cant come soon enough.
WUAC is taking place at Chang Jung Christian University in Taiwan from July 7-10, 2008.

The team trials for the 2008 World University Archery Team were held in conjunction with the USIACs in Mays Landing, NJ. The FITA portion of the qualification round is used to determine the team. Eligible CAP athletes who have graduated within the last year are also eligible to compete for a place on the WUAC team.

The CAP board of directors submitted a grant proposal to the Easton Sports Development Foundation requesting support for the World University Archery Team. It is with great pleasure to announce the full amount of the request, $21,000, was granted to help the WUAC team.
Easton Sports Development Foundation’s goal to provide support to the College Archery Program and colleges across the country is unprecedented for the College Archery Program. The grant will provide approximately 50% of the funding required to send the top collegiate athletes to compete in the World University Archery Championships in Chinese Taipei in July 2008.

The winds were tricky and relentless all weekend at the BEN AVERY SHOOTING FACILITY in Phoenix, but that didn’t stop the college archers from giving it their best. The highlight of the tournament … JMU archers Braden Gellenthien and Brittany Lorenti took top honors in the Men’s and Women’s Compound Divisions.
