From the CAP Assistant Director, Lorretta Sinclair:
In order to compete in any local, state, regional or national USA Archery tournament within the College division (you can always shoot in Senior division) you must meet all of the following CAP eligibility requirements:
The Team Eligibility form can be signed by the club president or the club coach/advisor, but the Academic Eligibility form MUST be signed by the university registrar. For those clubs that are members of the sports recreation department, the athletic director or sports club director may also sign the form. If your club is direct through USA Archery, you MUST have the school registrar sign the form. Coaches, per the CAP Handbook, are not allowed to sign the academic eligibility form.
All eligibility forms (both Academic and Team) must be sent to the registrar 15 days prior to the first competition or by 15 August September, whichever occurs first. If you have problems due to class schedules, or schools that are on the quarter system, please contact the CAP Registrar, John Sahi, with your concerns PRIOR to any competitions.
Send eligibility forms (new clubs must also send a copy of their USAA Club Membership) to:
John Sahi

Take a look at how Brian Christensen is incorporating archery into research at Colorado State University:
In a darkened hallway outside the lecture hall, students observe Christensen’s exceptional ability to aim a bow-mounted laser beam at a small target approximately 100 feet away, (pictured above) compared with students in the class, who are not trained archers. The overall goal is to illustrate how neural pathways discussed in lecture are utilized for muscle control.

The CAP board of directors submitted a grant proposal to the Easton Sports Development Foundation requesting support for the World University Archery Team. It is with great pleasure to announce the full amount of the request, $21,000, was granted to help the WUAC team.
Easton Sports Development Foundation’s goal to provide support to the College Archery Program and colleges across the country is unprecedented for the College Archery Program. The grant will provide approximately 50% of the funding required to send the top collegiate athletes to compete in the World University Archery Championships in Chinese Taipei in July 2008.

Chinese Taipei |
The USA College Archery Program (CAP) World Championship and CAP World Teams have traveled all over the world in recent years, including Korea, Turkey, Slovakia and Venezuela.
The FITA World Cup site has posted an article about the 7th WUAC to be held in Chinese Taipei in 2008.
A temporary website for the tournament has been set up by the event’s Organizing Committee. This website provides downloads of entry forms, regulations, and event info.
Getting a passport is taking longer and longer (sometimes up to 3 months!) Apply for your (and your family’s too!) passports now at the U.S. State Department’s Travel and Business website.
Many countries require that passports be valid for at least six months from the date of entry. Make sure your passport is valid at least through January 2009 at the minimum (it would be better to have a year or more of time left) to meet that requirement. The WUAC is less than 7 months away.
Find out about overseas travel in general, and about Chinese Taipei (known by the U.S. State Department as Taiwan). The U.S. State Department’s Travel web pages are helpful. These pages include a link to the CDC for vaccination information.
USA Archery World Team trips are a great experience and become wonderful memories.
