New Membership Information

Starting a collegiate archery club is an easy first step. Keeping it going will take hard work and dedication. Collegiate archers have a lot going on including school, archery, and other outside activities.

Currently, there are several 1-person ‘clubs’. This happened because there were a number of archers who did not have an active archery club at their university. You can form a club, even if you are the only one participating at the time. This allows the archer to be eligible for the All-American and All-Academic Teams and to participate in collegiate tournaments.

Three Easy Steps to Start a College Club” describes how you may start a club. In brief, (1) you must be a member of the NAA, (2) you must have a club membership, and (3) you must meet the college eligibility requirements. If you are the only archer, you can request a 1-time fee exemption for the first year. To make sure you get the fee exemption, just type a note to send with the form stating you are currently the only member of the club and request a 1-year exemption. You will receive an official US Archery Club Membership card for the year of application and also receive the U.S. Archery magazine.

If you want to expand and grow your club, this will take a lot of effort. Recruiting archers on campus can be done by posting flyers with practice times and meeting places, advertising in the university newspaper, and participating in on-campus recruiting activities. If you need any help in completing the paperwork, asking for the exemption, or have questions, please contact John Sahi at sahi@charter.net and we will try to help.
