The Utah Fita Archers hosted one of the Western Regional Sites of the 2006 National Indoor Championships in Salt Lake City, Utah on 11-12 March. The tournament was well attended by the collegiate community and included archers from Arizona State University, Colorado State University, Dine’ College, Idaho State University, Saddleback College, Shoreline Community College, Stanford, University of Utah, University of Washington, and Utah State University. It was great to see so many of the college archers from the various schools hanging out together and having a good time. Several of the top ten finishers shot in Salt Lake City including:

  • Lindsey Pian, 1st place Women’s College Recurve (Arizona State University)
  • Dakota Sinclair, 1st place Men’s College Recurve (Saddleback College)
  • Ted Harden II, 5th place Men’s College Recurve (Arizona State University)
  • Jeff Anderson, 7th place Men’s College Recurve (University of Washington)
  • Logan Wilde, 4th place Men’s College Compound (Idaho State University)

Special congratulations to Lindsey Pian who took 1st place in both the Women’s Senior and College Recurve divisions.

Thanks go out to Larry and Randi Smith who put on a well-organized tournament and often finished the rounds earlier than scheduled. The judging was professional, the new target backing worked nicely, and the lighting was very good. It was a great venue for nationals, hope to see you all there next year!
